Niykee is still writing songs despite having been part of the current chaos. She was hand-picked to be part of this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. As a producer magnet, Niykee is constantly looking through the many beats that are being sent to her. She finds that most beats spark fresh songs. She says that she can discern if a beat is great in only 5 seconds. Then, a new song may pop up in her head. I'll sit out on my backyard with my guitar, and then the lyrics appear and it's usually all done in under 30 minutes. As she continues develop as a musician, Niykee says that the hurt of her past serves as an endless source of unimaginable ideas. Even when she's not composing about events that were actually taking place the pain due to her childhood and the grief over the loss of her daughter finds its way into the music. My songs are shaped by it and I feel the deeper meaning underneath everything. This is one of the aspects that are most crucial to me.
